Looooove that photo, @Brad.b. The bike's not bad either. ;)

What year is your Thruxton? Looks like my 2012.

Yes!:joy: Handsome husband and I laughed about the same thing...something you would never hear an American say, ever! The cultural differences between our two countries divided by a common language have been a great part of the forum so far:cool:. Loving it and have wondered what sounds interesting from the other side...kind of like not being able to hear your own accent. I wish I had a ride to report but glad to hear about others, including ones with fruitcake:heart_eyes:.

Very nice, Ducatitotriumph! I particularly like the number (license) plate and that "carbon inlet thingy". ;)

Loved this post, @Martine! You've described one of the many things I enjoy about this forum. The language differences are really interesting and I've learned lots in the two years I've been a member. Another thing I enjoy reading and learning about are cultural differences (and similarities) in food. Like "brew and fruitcake"! Although we each of those two things in the U.S., I've never heard of someone consuming them together. Have you??!! :joy::joy: Hmmm, I may have to try it, though. I do have great respect for @Wessa 's opinion on most things. ;)

You @Sandi T. and @Martine are very kind. One of the very British things that we love here in the UK is afternoon tea. The tea (brew) and the fruit cake that I had was a subset of a full afternoon tea. A full one includes sandwich’s, cakes and a cream scone.

That's what handsome husband and I laughed so hard about:joy:...in the US "brew" refers only to beer, ever. And I can't think of a single place that serves fruitcake, and if they did they wouldn't be serving beer! Have enjoyed a British afternoon tea here but it was a novelty experience at the Glen Eyrie Castle in Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Definitely knew you meant tea but reading that from this side of the pond made us laugh;) Loved it! Still no ride, dang it!

Ahhhhh, now it all makes sense, @Wessa. Here in the U.S., "brew" typically refers to beer. :joy::joy::joy: So you can see why a brew and fruitcake made me laugh. Sometimes (especially among college boys), "brew" is embellished to "brewski". ;)

The goodies in that photo look absolutely delicious, by the way!! :yum I have had a cream scone a few times in the past. There have been a couple of places that traditional afternoon tea here in Tucson but I'm not sure they are still around.

I did think about it, only my phone was in my pocket under my leather trousers and I didnt want to strip 1/2 down just to get my phone. Then I ended up doing just that to get my wallet out for fuel.

Tank off and cleaned up ready for reassembly.

    Airbox tomorrow.

Winter is meaning limited garage hours - frostbite or a glass of port in front of the fire? You can guess which wins!

There are several smaller highways that parallel I-25. Just set Google Maps to avoid freeways and it will get you off the interstate. You must have a lot less traffic in your state than we do in the Front Range. :-D Compared to Houston where I grew up and now Austin, this is not as bad as either of those towns.

Just fetched Thruxton wheels back from the wheel builder.
Shame that too busy to get them to the tyre fitter today, reckon it’s going to look good with these on.
