have owned this little sportster for nearly ten years now hardly used really, but when i do get it out its good fun round the pembrokeshire lanes
Took 1200 Sportster out for a test ride thought I was old enough to own one at 60. Took it back 10minutes later they don't go, wont handle, and don't stop it was like riding a tractor.
yeh i know, there very dated reminds me of my days riding bikes in the 70s, they do look good though and always courses conversation when you pull up on one
I must admit I'm not a Harley fan, But if a bike gives you pleasure and you get the buzz you want from it , then that's what it's all about. We all feel the same wind whatever we ride. That's what brings us all together as a biker family . We may all ride different bikes for different reasons , but at the end of the day bikes are our passion . And that ends the political broadcast on behalf of the biker lifes matter party
Yes bikes of the very early 70s bad brakes elastic frames. Not sure how i survived the 70s on those bikes. Perhaps that why some of us can and prefer to still ride powerfull bikes without all the electronic wizardry. But hey each to there own just enjoy your bike.
so its exactly like a harley............. actually scratch that, it started and completed the journey........
Totally opposite every Sportster I've ever ridden -all both of them. It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow as far as I'm concerned.
yeh, if we get to go to the GMU i will be using my other bike a faithful suzuki vstrom 1000 the most comfortable touring bike i have ever owned, ticks all the boxes
They are a very good bike indeed a mate of mine has one and he does some serious touring on it without missing a beat.
Back in the 70's I was riding a 1974 Yamaha. It was dual overhead cam, 4 valve per cylinder [a twin]. Had a disc front brake a put out 49 h.p. out of 498cc, and a redline about 10,500rpm. I used to laugh at the H-D riders dragging all that useless weight around with that wheezing industrial motor. I changed to Triumphs back in 2002. I still laugh at those guys. Quit pretending and go buy a motorcycle ! ...J.D.
