As a matter of interest, ((If you don’t mind?) what does it cost (Know it’s subjective) to insure a R3? About 6 months ago I tried to buy an R3 Roadster (We couldn’t get close enough on price) so I googled for insurance...the cheapest quote I received was £414 for TPFT. Which I though reasonable. Me being 76 and only back to bikes for a few months after 25+ year layoff. At that time I was paying £114 TPFT for a Honda Shadow 750. Now paying £129 TPFT for 2019 Meister Ditch Pump. Ken.

Got a quote last month on a r3 tfc cost was £364 fully comp, didnt give the option of any other models at the time of the quote.
978.22 TPFT. That with Triumph. My current insurer was one of 34 that didn’t quote. Gettin’ old sucks even more when you want to ride a m cycle! Discrimination, that’s what I say.
Hi Wessa, Only recently started biking again after 25 years away, so NCB will only be 2 years when my renewal is due. Rode bikes continuous for near 35 years previously without a single insurance claim. Cheers,Ken. PS. That’s not to say accident free.
Ah that explains the large insurance quotes. It is a real piss take when insurance companies don't look at your overall driving/riding exxperience. I know when I had company cars for many years and then gave them up (I retired) I had to build a NCB on my own, as back then the insurance companies did not take driving a company car as part of your insurance NCB. A real pain. I believe that they do now take company car driving into consideration.
Someone did tell me you tend not to ride as fast as you get older...don’t know about that, but, do know the ball are not quite as big! Ken.
Have a friend who drives his wife’s disability car and he will have to start from square one if anything happens where they have to give the car back, and, as he’s 80 now it might be difficult to even get insured in his own right. He still has his motorcycle insured. He rides a Kwaka Vulcan 650. Cheers,Ken.
Insurance on my R3 TFC was around £430, but there's 2 big caveats on that. First off, because I kept my TBird Commander, it's a multibike policy, which means I could share my NCB. Without it, it was going to be more like £800-900. Second, that price is for the remainder of the policy, which is about 10 of 12 months. So I'm guessing at renewal it will be more like £500. I'm 36, with just over 6 years of riding experience (and therefore 6yrs NCB). When I initially did some quotes on gocompare and the like, the cheapest was around £900, and the funniest, was over £8k!
