    Hi all,
new to the forum, just bought (a month ago) a 07 tiger 1050. Loving the pokey plant, but have been struggling with bottoming the front end.
Found this place really helpful and thought I'd join in as I do a lot of my own maintenance
    Cheers
    Dave Bell

Hello Dave and welcome to the forum :)

You would be better loosing your postcode as you don’t want any undesirables knowing where you live.

Hi David and Welcome to the Forum

Try heavier springs and oil in the forks.

I've just put 9.5N/mm in (I'm 17 stone) much better. Old oil was grim

Don't have a Tiger, run a 600 Bandit in Formula Prostocks Racing, I am 16 stone, recently went from 9.5N/mm and 15 weight to 1.0N/mm & 20 weight in order to reduce the loaded sag, worked a treat, trouble is now the rear shock is too soft for the front ... Doh! :p

Yep, I meant 10.0Nmm, had to send to the USA for them as 9.5 is the heaviest I could find in the UK, company called Racetech.

Yeah, I found the racetech site, great for working out combinations, I used several different weights, to allow for the winter belly before settling on 9.5's how are you finding the 10 rate?

I was looking for more ride height & less diving on the brakes, obviously for racing you are looking for a far firmer ride, after fitting them complete with Motul 20W and experimenting with spacers I got the front loaded sag to 25mm which is spot on for racing.
Unfortunately the rear GSXR 1000 shock I have in is at the max of all adjustment & is still way to soft, the front tyre wear then became an issue, front & rear no longer working in harmony :dizzy:, so had to reduce spacers in forks as a compromise.
Have just sourced a Hayabusa rear shock, which will fit and is heavier duty than the GSXR one, so hopefully we will get a setting that works.

You don't happen to know of a direct swap on the 1050 tiger that's better sprung and valved. Does seam to big down on B roads

Never have, always too snooty to deal with me, look at me like I couldn't afford to be there, whereas I just don't rate them. I use Road & trail or A55 if I've not got time to do it myself.
