    Hi Matt

Could you let me know where the Triumph grips instructions tell you to connect to wire them up. I have some oxford grips (currently on sale at m and p) and I’d like to connect them to a switched live so I’m hoping the Triumph installation instructions can help with the best connection point.

    Thanks
    Paul

Good question, my Oxford grips fitted by a previous owner and fitted to the rear live brake switch
I too would like to rewire them to a better live, may wire direct to the battery as they have the auto shut off feature when the engine is turned off

Hi guys, I'm a noob on here, but Triumphinstructions.com is the place for all fitting instructions as long as you can get a part number. You don't say what bike you have, but the part number for 2016 speedy grips is A9638095. Enter that and you should get the full pdf instructions.

Hi, I have read some reports of variable effectiveness of heated grips, I have been using heated gloves for many years, the first ones in the 19 60's were home made from a stripped down electric blanket! cut out all the cable, divide the length of 240 volt by 20 and you have a 12 volt length, stitch into a silk inner glove (twice for two hands) connect up like kiddie gloves inside over sized gauntlets and plug into a fused connector to the battery. Then I found Widder from the US and wore them out over many years ( they are no longer made) Now I have Gerbing with temperature control (luxury) I ride most days except in snow and rarely have cold hands unlike most of the groups I ride with.

Hi Paul, there is a dedicated connection behind the right front indicator (rear brake side) you can push it out of its clip without taking off the cowl. Theres a bung in it that needs to bw taken out to then connect the triumph heated grips.

Yes, that's the one. I guess you'll have to cut the connector off and use a different one. Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been away.

The connector is called econoseal in case anyone wanted to get the corresponding connector. Apparently the Triumph grips have a relay included so you will have to add that to the wiring set up for aftermarket grips. After finding out about the relay I’m just going to wire mine direct to the battery and out my faith in the auto shutdown feature.
