Qustion , Does a UK resident need extra health insurance in Southern Ireland like you are advised to do when going to France , Germany etc or is not need in Southern Ireland .I know it OK in Northern Ireland because they are part of the UK but not sure about Southern Ireland
Just to add to this there is a euro medical card I think that may be needed to prove residency of the uk, I think it was free last time I needed one but just check.
EHIC European Health Insurance Card Apply for it here https://www.ehic.org.uk/Internet/startApplication.do Edit: there's no need to have one for Ireland https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/he...when-travelling-abroad/healthcare-in-ireland/
There's a huge choice of options.. Places to see.. Routes etc. Etc. And everyone has their own opinion but in short you can't really go wrong North or South. One of the most popular routes is the Wild Atlantic way, check out a guy called Richy Vida on you tube, he has a small touring company called Wildbad touring they create a series of videos for each tour they do. They are based in England and did the Wild Atlantic way last May they have just started uploading the vids of that trip to YouTube in the last couple of weeks . Check them out as they are highly entertaining to watch and will give you some ideas for your own adventures. I live in Northern Ireland and if I can be of any help just ask.
Hello from Northern Ireland, can't think of what problems you might envisage in my homeland. What do yo want to know, there is plenty. Belfast is a vibrant city. County Antrim, you have one of the most beautiful motorcycle coast roads in Europe, leading to the Giants Causeway and all that comes with that, there you will find the seaside towns of Portrush, Portstewart which incorporate the famous NW200 street circuit. You also have Bushmills and the famous distillery. County Londonderry, beautiful beaches of Benone and Magilligan, the City of Derry and access to County Donegal, the Sperrin mountains dropping down into the lakelands of Fermanagh. Plenty of Castles and stately homes along the way. Armagh has some fantastic border roads and spectacular scenery developing into the Mountains of Mourne flowing from beautiful County down and again some lovely coast roads. Not to mention some of the finest Cuisine you'll find, never mind the Guinness. So there you have it. Anything else just ask.
We did a tour along the south coast. It was rainy but so much fun. B n e'd it and found very friendly folk. Cork and the sw was particularly good.
I toured in the south two years ago and did Northern Ireland last week, just home today. In the south we started in Dublin, then rode down the west coast to Watreford, then along to Kinsale, on to Kerry (rode the the ring), then up the west coast wild atlantic way to Galway and then Donegal. Finishing with a run down the A46 to back to Dublin. Last week we started in Larne, rode up the east coast and along the north coast to Derry, the headed north into the mountains, looping back down to Letterkenny. Rode north from Letterkenny to the coast and rode the wild atlantic way around and then down to Donegal, before heading back to Letterkenny. The rode to Enniskillen and on to Dundalk, finiishing in Belfast. There are loads of B&B's or hotels that welcome bikers and loads of things to do during the days that you are touring.
