I get you! I don't want to pick up electrical wires - they're like garden hoses, there might be something left in it.. :p

I wired the parking light to the halo DRL, and added a switch to the dipped beam feed so I can run with DRL's only.
The lip on the unit is quite thick but fits OK with deep rim, depends what you have (I found doesn't fit with Storm rims)

I've got the standard 2005 bug eyes - so that should fit ok then?

Rode it to work and back. Temp gauge stayed just above cold for about 4 miles then went up towards the red. On the way home climbed slowly to the red and stayed there. Stuck thermostat me thinks. Lovely ride though!

Can't say for sure as in my case I was converting from Dame Edna's on a 2015 bike.
But have a look here, @Red Thunder has done the conversion on a 2010 bug eye with what looks to be similar units (looking at the packaging I would guess they're from the same manufacturer) and had no problems.

Aye, I got a lovely pair off Amazon delivered same day
Very easy to install in the chrome round headlight housing
Had to raise the housing as they were pointing too low
    Very much worth the investment

Well, I've got them in. Bit of a fiddle, they wouldn't fit with the bracket in, so I left those out. Looks great, I think!

@Col_C so I've got them in, but the outer ring doesn't light up. I suppose that's to do with the single red lead coming out of the assembly? The drl connction that's in the original assembly has a black and a yellow lead? I'm an absolute electrical noob I'm afraid.. can you enlighten me?

:) Took a deep breath and went back in the garage tonight after tea :)
Staying calm and cool  I persevered and got the new LED lights to work with the lights on NUDGER :grinning:
Removed the wiring and removed the top box rack :)
Refitted pillion seat and grab handle :)
All back to standard for Saturday when NUDGER gets his heated handlebar grips fitted :)
Gotta fit the lights to my trailer and do some rewiring fit the new number plate and hopefully that’ll be the trailer sorted :)
Gotta refabricate the tow bar so it’ll fit NUDGER
So to give myself a fighting chance I’ve taken Thursday off work to get on top of this job
Going to the Yorkshire pudding rally next week and want to use the trailer otherwise I can’t take beer :scream:
    Can’t have that now...can I??:confused::p

I did 540 kms to her around twisty roads through my country on both sides of the
    Pyrenees.
That’s the best you can do to your Triumph! Lovely day!

Yes, see my post on previous page of this thread, the lead that used to go to the side/parking light now needs to be connected to the single lead for the halo DRL. If you want to run with only the DRL's and no dip beam you would need to add a switch to the dip beam feed to disconnect that (assuming your bike always runs dip beam as standard)

@Col_C, I'd seen your previous post - what I don't get is how to connect the parking lead to the drl. Can I just connect the black or yellow lead?

Cut the park bulb holder off, put a spade connector on the yellow lead and plug the DRL lead into that. Black lead is -ve earth which you no longer need so just tape the end up.

Made some extensions for the after market mirrors that I fitted to NUDGER :)
Used them for the GMU and have decided to raise them by an inch and a half :)
Must remember to lift the gear lever up a couple of mm as well
Full day of electrickery and tow bar fettling in the garage tomorrow

Decided to upgrade my AGV open face helmet today. Went to J&S and got a LS2 Valiant for just over £200, seems to do the job really well in both open and full face modes. Comfortable at motorway speeds when in open face mode, not as quiet as my Shoei GT Air when in full face mode, but acceptable noise levels without ear defenders. I will try it tomorrow with ear defenders in, which I expect to make a significant improvement.

Really pleased with my LS2 Valiant. Only had it 3 weeks though.
