Hello all, Tomorrow, I am placing an order for a Matt Black 2018 Tiger 1050 Sport. The dealer has one in stock, so depending how busy they are for the PDI, hopefully I can be on the road for the weekend, will have to see. I currently have a Moto Guzzi Stelvio (commuter / winter ride) and a Hayabusa (Summer Fun / Supplier of Potential Death). The Stelvio is getting old now and the Busa is going to kill me or land me in prison (had a close call with a plain clothed X5 the other day), so i've decided to sell both and get one tool, for both jobs After much deliberation, I have decided on the Sport. I had a 955i before the Stelvio which I really enjoyed, so I'm expecting the same but better from the 1050.
Yes, I hope so, mainly commuting and a little 'spirited' riding round this little island, with a very occasional trip to the 'big island' Obviously I'm not expecting the power of the Busa, but that's a good thing as I feel I'm running out of luck, as its addictively easy to ride it like a twat I'm not happy with the rider I become when I'm on it with my Panegale / Touno mates
Welcome to the forum! You'll find some great information and good laughs here. I assume that you just had your 30th, 40th, 50th, or 60th birthday (check one) and your attitude toward death has taken a turn for the worse
Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the 955i, that was a great all rounder, only left me as it was written off. Decided on a change to a GS, but come across the Stelvio, bought it as it was something different, but haven't really got along with it, miss the 955, hence part of the reason to go back.
45 in June, just a close brush with the law the other day and the fact that keeping up with a Panegale has me right on the edge of my abilities, my tyres capabilities and the size of my bollocks.......... I fear the next time out, I will exceed at least one, if not all of these
Welcome in Scott, good choice of bike for the Islands (very bumpy) roads! Changed from big sports bikes to naked roadsters a few years ago to try & slow down, so understand where you’re coming from. Enjoy the new ride, your choice of colour will impress some on this forum!
Welcome in. Used to go to school in bembridge and was thinking bringing the bike over and revisiting the old haunts, then saw the ferry prices, how is the tourist business over there?
Yep, you cant beat Black........ My Busa which I'm trading in is Black, so is my Guzzi and my daily cars. The only things that aren't are my classic American cars as there's not such a great availability to be able to choose your colour, if there had been Black versions, I would have had them.
I work for the ferry company, and I agree, they can be extortionate, it can be quite embarrassing sometimes when we have to sell tickets at such high prices. Bikes are cheap though, come on over, i can get some mates together, we can have a ride round. If you ever want to come over in the car, get in touch, I will see what I can do for you on the price. Yeah, business is just starting to pick up now with this weather, it brings them all over
Welcome to the Asylum you should fit right in. To keep the inmates happy we will need photos of you're new bike. GLAD IT'S BLACK Tucker
Welcome to the forum Scottv8. Good looking bike you've got there and enjoy the forum A mate of mine designed and fitted the cafe' kitchen for the Brading Roman Villa site.At the time,I was getting over a health scare so he asked me to go with him to the Isle of Wight....lovely wee Isle,he gave me his car to tour the island for four days while he and his crew worked at the villa site, well impressed.....
Yeah it is.......not mine anymore though Just made the purchase of the Tiger, hopefully picking it up tomorrow if they have the time to do the PDI. Busy time of the year for them though, the workshop is rammed, so I'm not holding much hope Back to work Sunday and Monday, so will have to wait till Tuesday.
Welcome and I hope you enjoy your new ride. I made the same move a while back and for the same reasons, so I can idenitify with this. Much happier now that I'm not riding mach 2 with my hair on fire!
