    Hi all.
So what's the question you may ask? Well there isn't one really, I just wanted to pop in and say hello.
Having owned a 900 Thruxton for the last 2 1/2 years I've now purchased a Thruxton R with track racer kit due to pick up on March 1st.
Really enjoyed the 900 ownership but when the new Thruxton came out I really fell in love with the looks and spec.
Managed to hold my excitement until I saw Triumph were giving away free track racer kits!
So the deed is done and I'm looking forward to taking delivery.
I guess the question is - am I going to love it as much as I hope?
I'll be sure to let you know,

    SJ

Hi matey iv owned the 900 thruxton and a host of other triumphs in my time but the thruxton R is by far the only bike that's had me sitting in the garage drinking tea and smoke in hand just looking and grinning at the bike , best tip iv got get a kettle in ya shed so you can sit there longer

Very, very happy with mine for the following reasons, and I'm always keen to get out on it

    1) Looks incredible - attracts attention from bikers and many, many non-bikers wherever I park up
    2) Handling - so very sweet with great suspension (I had to soften the front settings a bit though)
    3) Power delivery is superb
    4) Comfort - riding position is just right for all day rides (I don't have the fairing), clutch it super light for traffic

I had 4 cylinder Jap sports bikes prior to this (still have an FZR1000) but I'd rather be on the Thrux even though it doesn't have the top-speed performance. No need nowadays with all the speed restrictions and and cameras.

Hi Simon, I've had my Thruxton R for nearly two years; with the racer kit fitted, including Vance & Hines pipes without the DB killers and a Tech D-cat fitted. Fitting the D-cat makes a big difference. I don't think I'll ever get rid of the Thruxton R, even if I buy other bikes to sit alongside it. I'm sure you'll absolutely love it and very shortly feel just the same way about your own bike. Having the racer kit fitted to your bike for free is a great bonus and makes the bike what it should've been right from the outset. The only variation I have on mine is that I've kept the standard mounts for the handlebar grips; I'm too old to lean that far forward for the lowered bars. Regards PJ
