    Hi All

Had a conversation Saturday with the guys at Stafford Triumph regarding "X" pipe conversion kit.

This is to go on my 2018 speedmaster

It seems these remove the CAT,improve performance, improve MPG ,and smooth out the acceleration.

Oh it also makes the pipes a bit louder

Has anyone had experience of these as it seems a good way to improve the bike.

I did email TTP and are not doing anything for the new Speedmaster as they say the "ECM" is locked.

    Had it fitted Saturday.
    £277 at Staffordshire triumph
Must say it put a grin on my face.
It has given it some "balls"
Accelerated through the gears without high revs and she was off.
Exhaust tone slightly deeper and not too loud
Smoothed the snacthyness of the ride by wire.
My brother had his bobber black done at the same time and we are both very impressed.
Feels like that 1200 cc engine has been woken up.:):)
    Would highly recommend it.

    Thanks Mark,
Been looking at cat options. I have managed to locate a good fabricator to remake whole system. Did you need any retuning?

My next mod. Will do it myself tho, as I did with fitting the Y piece to the GS.
Only question which one did you go for as there are several makers on the market. The Motone one looks well made.

Very nice! I've just purchased my Motone X pipe and will be getting it fitted within the new few weeks. Being within the US, I realize I lose "homologation" and all, but it seems to be worth it ;)

For those that have an interest as to what is involved, I found this video on YouTube. While the install is on a Bonneville T120, the install in theory is very similar on the Speedmaster. This man's videos are great in general!

    Hey,
I used Motone Customs x-pipe. Yes i had to remove CAT. I also changed exhaust to British Customs ones. They are empty pipes. So in total bike is noisy. Cars are giving me a way. Im not too experienced biker i would not say there is any improvement in chacteristics.

There was no problem with mentioned " ecm locked".

Did you find you lost engine braking after the installation of the X pipe and free flow exhausts. I had a 2017 T 100 liquid cooled. I installed a Motone x-pipe and British Customs predator pro pipes. It was too loud for my enjoyment what I really did not like, was almost a complete loss of engine braking.
I’ve now bought myself a magnificent 2020 Triunph Speedmaster and I’m juggling with the thoughts of removing the cat converter in favour of a motone X pipe. I’m just trying to recall how much engine braking I had lost with just the installation of the X pipe.
Is there anyone out there who can give me their feedback and experience.
