300 is an awfully a big number, a turbo busa that I witnessed on the dyno made 243 mph with over 450 bhp. Can’t remember exact number

Bit out of touch these days but nowhere long enough over here for 300mph as far as I'm aware.
RAF Woodbridge was about the longest hard surfaced runway but isn't used now.
Elvington has some noise issues (or did) unfortunately so couldn't use all the runway.
Pendine Sands is used now I think.

Topped mine out at 186. **** me that was quick, scared the living daylights out of me, had to be done though. Grown up a bit since then. On a personal note, I cannot see him doing it either

:);):(:confused::cool::p:D:eek::oops::rolleyes:o_O:worried:. German Autbahns back in the day were brilliant!! As I say, I’m an old man now. Topped out my Thruxton R last year on the same road 130 mph, then my mate passed me on his blade at 160 plus. I keep telling my children, I will never grow up

I'd agree with the comment about the distance not being adequate at Elvington. I was there when this happened and it wasn't pretty......

@Ken walburn I think a few of us have been there in that situation when younger. I once had xxx mph on a zzr 1100 and thought wow that was so easy ...... so did it again
Told salesman it was rubbish when he asked as my licence would only last days :confounded:

Bloody press always have to sensationalise a headline don’t they.
She crashed at about 90mph not 254mph. Still, bloody scary anyway, and a fantastic achievement to get that record speed.
As for Guy, he’s got a few screws loose anyway so no surprise that he’s giving it a try. Good luck to him I say though I’d be surprised if he pulls it off. :p

And she fared better than the bike. After the bike cartwheeled along it looked pretty sad for itself. Apparently the fancy ecu in the tail got lost for a few days or something like that.

Hayabusa means Peragrin Falcon - the fastest bird of prey - that just so happens to enjoy a diet of Blackbird. I once clocked over 100 in 1st gear - superb bike but not great on the wrists on a long run.

I made a promise to myself, many years ago, that I would not grow up until I was at least 80 years old, and even then I might not bother!:p
