So tomorrow my Trophy is in for a new back tyre at the dealer, and whilst it's there I've arranged for a test ride on the new Street Triple RS. I'll have an hour to hoon about on it and I'm really excited to be able to try it and compare to the old original one I had.
So you never know, if the bike is absolutely awesome I may be turning up at the GMU on a Street Trip. Let you guys know tomorrow how I got on.

I've had the Trophy 4 years now and its a great touring bike, but I'm fancying something a bit more fun. My first Street was an amazing bike super fast handled great and was light enough to get out of the garage without slipping a disc.
For future touring I can use my Burgman.

See you guys are talking me into it already - Stop it now ;)

    So.......................

Just back from the dealer, and new tyre fitted to the Trophy.

I guess you guys want to know how I got on. Well it was super fast as you can imagine, brakes were awesome, engine sound was a bit muted compared to my old Street which had an Arrow exhaust on it.
Now what I found after riding for an hour was that my wrists and back were starting to complain. The old Street seating position was much more comfortable and more upright, the new bike has more of a sports bike feel about it. Also my backside was not happy with the seat, it was a bit hard for me. On my old Street I did order a comfort seat which made the bike more comfortable. I rode all the way back from near the Swiss border to my house in the Netherlands with only petrol and loo breaks (around 800kms) on my old bike but I don't think I could do the same on the new bike.
So for the present moment I will be remaining TrophyCat and you guys will have to just put up with my Trophy - Sorry.

So the Triumph dealer just got back to me with his offer of the Trophy against the Street RS (yes I know I'm not getting the RS, but was curious what deal he would make)

    Offer 1 (refused)
    11000 Euros
Sent email back to him saying it was derisory I have tank bag, top box and all inner bags and bike only has 8000kms

    Offer 2 (ridiculous)
    11400 Euros.

So to get a Street RS I would have to find 2000 Euros and give away my Trophy at a silly price. The Trophy cost about 22000 Euros when I bought it new so it's lost half it's value.

You are so right. The bike is a 2013 model SE.
Now that I'm retired I don't feel inclined to give a whole bunch of cash to a dealer at my expense.

I had a similar shock last week. While waiting for my new tyres to be fitted I was poke nosing around the dealers.
Asked about a nearly new Triple Black, apparently the GS-Adventure that I bought in September has lost £3000!! so much for BMW's holding their value :(

The local BMW dealer in my town is having a demo day on the BMW sport bike range. You can choose to ride either the S1000R, S1000RR or the S1000XR. I've chosen to have a try on the S1000R and my ride will be on Saturday morning. This is just for scientific analysis purposes you understand ;)
I've seen some great reviews on this bike so am curious what it's actually like.
Anyone have one or ridden one????

i had quite a long test ride on one (S1000r) it's a brilliant bike, but i just found it lacking in any character, the pegs are more sports bike positioned and the mirrors were useless they might as well not be there

Nice bike, bloody fast, rubbish mirrors as people have said. I actually liked it more than the Street RS I tried last week. Seat was very hard though, but the bar height and general ergonomics were good.
I could certainly live with this bike except I'd need to find 8000 Euros and change my name to BeemerCat.
The Trophy seemed slow riding home afterwards, but very comfy.
