    so any recommendations for a code reader for my 2001 TT600.T I A Mark
    and anyone know where the plug is located.

    Your model is shown in the list. If you go the Bluetooth way get a good quality dongle, the cheap Chinese ones don’t do the job. When I go in the garage later I’ll post up a pic of the one I use.

    This is the dongle I use, it’s from www.lonelec.co.uk
    If you go the laptop route their cables are supposed to be the best as well.

    I have an android phone and use the Tunecu app, it gives more functions like reset service spanner and bleed abs brakes. Can’t help with the laptop situation except to say if you want to download any fuel maps that is the way to do it.

    Yes you can check on error codes and clear them.
