Well last week I swapped the speed twin for the tiger and it cost me £106. Today I rang to swap the LT for the thruxton r and you would not believe it, I actually got a £4.70 refund and that was after having to pay another £25 admin fee. How do you figure that?
If you raise a formal request for the £12k, indicating which bike, I will present it to my financial advisor; don't hold your breath. On the two bikes the flow went something like this.. I started with thinking about selling the LT. Had a few conversations with the triumph dealership re the tiger sport and went to view a BMW R1250RS. I was undecided on what to do next, so I went to the Honda dealership and test rode the VFR800x, good bike. The Honda dealership is in the same group as the triumph dealership and what I had not realised was that the sales guy at honda had spoken to the triumph boys about the trade in value for the LT. Roll forward the clock a couple of weeks and my claim with triumph about the speed twin was not going well, basically triumph pointed me back to my triumph dealer. So off I went to have a conversation with them on what they were going to do about the speed twin. To my surprise they offered me an amazing deal on the tiger for my speed twin, couldn't refuse it so made the trade. This left me with the LT still in the garage. My original reason wanting to move on the LT is I was finding difficulty with the clutch due to arthritis in my left hand. So when I was in the dealers to pick-up the tiger I spotted the thruxton r sales ticket. Asked the sales guy for a price on my LT against it and again the deal was to good to walk away. So two new bikes in as many days.. what can you do when they offer such good deals. Anyway decided you cannot take the money with you, so why not spend it on things that you enjoy.
Have a look here mate.. https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/what-is-next-for-me.21717/page-7#post-364357
I must say the the Thruxton R is possibly my favourite modern Triumph and as green my favourite colour I like it your new acquisition
I will raise the business case for 765, watch this space. On the storage and protection, yep will likely go with FS365.
Really sorry @littleade the business case has been rejected, so no 765 for you mate... I've no idea on the reason for this but it was a flat no way..
Well today the thunderbird LT is going back to the dealers. I'm really quite sad and will miss the big old girl loads, but she has just become to much to handle; good luck girl
Yep, can you arrange to come sort it as I don't have time. I need to sort out getting miles on the new bikes...
