I thought it would be interesting to start a discussion about your biker goals for the year ahead. Mine Visit the Triumph museum in Hinckley Do an overnight trip with some mates Stop talking about it and Finally buy either a Ducati 888 or 916 (the missus has now rubber stamped it) Do some advanced training Try and ride at least 3000 miles. (Last year was pitiful)
1. Do the miles / trips I did last year, ( booked a couple and planned a couple). 2. Get the Suzuki GS750 MOTed at least, ( end cans, throttle spring, tyres, thorough going over end to end). 3. Buy Panniers+Rails + Seat Cowl, (and no more). 4. Stay upright, ( always a good idea). 5. Get to more Events, ( always room for a few more).
1 Invent a time machine 2 then go back to 100 million years BC and shag Raquel Welch 3 win the lottery 4 retire 5 get a brand new Triumph Rocket
1. Change the Engine in Penelope. 2. Traval more than last year on my bikes 3 . Not sell my bikes during my Devorce this year 4. Show off my new ZZR..... 5 lose weight for my bikes
1. Try not to spend anymore money on the Bonnie. 2. Visit the factory - do the tour and museum. (Tickets booked so that's happening) 3. Ride more miles, at least 5000 on each one. 4. Get the bloody cx500 going again. 5. Eat less at Loomies
I never make plans just take it as it comes. But this year my Darling Wife is going back to university so I will be chief cook and bottle washer. Ride Safe Joe.
1. Stop arsing around with mods and ride twice a week 2. Do a bike festival 3. Go to DD beaches on DDay to see where my dad landed (Sword with No3 Commando) 4. Do advanced rider course 5. Get fitter and lighter so riding does not knacker me sooo much
I like number 5, my lack of miles mean that my wrists ache after about 20 miles, 5 years ago when I used to do around 8000 miles a year I never noticed that as a problem.
Hmmm. Guess going back in time would be the best option anyway. Bit like Dagenham, wouldn't want to visit there nowadays.....
1...ride more 2...stay the right way up 3...make more stuff 4...try not to ROAD RAGE 5...occasionally leave the bike and drink more
1 - do track day 2 - do advanced training 3 - get my mates to commit to a europe trip 4 - get a second bike 5 - spend some time practicing low speed shizz
Think I'll do the same as Stinger except maybe the track day. I'll use that option to get a time machine and shag Bridget Bardot, as Raquel will be getting rather pissed off by now with hairy bikers appearing out of nowhere and knobbing her. "Oh no, not again" I suspect she thinks. Hoping that the next one will at least have had a bath first...
1..to ride more than 200 miles this year 2..avoid all wet roads 3..finally get over to Isle of Man with the bike 4..get a 2nd bike 5..get my suspension set up properly (2017)speed R
In no particular order of merit or priority 1. Ride one 2. Clean two 3. Ride a different one 4. Clean another two 5. Meet some forum people All of these anticipated activities are wholly dependent on completion of the seemingly endless building and decorating works at the house ....... <SIGH>
1. do 5000 miles in calendar year (71 so far and counting) 2. Complete IAM course with HERAM (signed up - just do it!) 3. Stop stripping down my AJS and start putting it back together - on road for end of April 4. Visit Triumph experience 5. Don't buy new 1200 Scrambler
This reminds me of work, where we had to write our goals and objectives for the upcoming year (hated doing it), and "avoid getting fired" & "get a pay rise" weren't considered acceptable. 1. I'd like to do the Classic TT again (watch, not take part). Went in 2017 and the whole trip was brilliant. 2. Explore Dumfries & Galloway on bike (know it well, great roads, but never been on bike 'cause family always insist on coming along too). 3. Go to summer evening bike shows - there are a couple I've been to before, but seem to have arranged to be away the last few years. 4. Spend more time doing it rather than thinking about doing it, and hopefully rack up at least 5000 miles. 5. Meet up with old school friend for our annual bike adventure (missed last year). 5b. Go to BSB race.
Well here's mine; Take part in road racing as a clubman (this is gonna happen ) Try not to crash while doing #1. When #2. is achieved try and score some points Learn to do more of my own maintenance but hopefully not as a result of failing at #2. Meet some other forum members whilst doing #1.
Survive the year without the Wasp falling on my foot. I’ve got several trips this year including Norway and I don’t want to be a numpty again. Nothing much else really
