i am planning my first tour of Normandy later this year and need some advice on the best bags for the T120. My dealer has suggested the Triumph waxed black pannier set of two bags at around £450, which look really cool but just wondered if there were any good alternatives available?

Any suggestions welcome and feedback on Triumphs baggage also welcome.

I bought the Triumph nylon bags for two-up touring and am pleased with them.

    Good VFM I reckon.

They come with waterproof over-covers but I rode through several showers with using them and the contents stayed dry.

What seat is that on your bike, standard or King and queen etc.?

    It's the standard seat.

For the first time after owning a number of bikes I've found a stock seat that's quite bearable for me - and also my wife finds it fine for her as pillion!

I find the seat OK for the first hour but after that I start fidgeting around, was thinking of having a custom job done, what length trips have you been doing on your T120?

I usually take a short break after about an hour's riding anyway (otherwise my concentration level diminishes) so I can't judge the seat over longer times. However, it still felt fine after a days riding, whereas other bikes didn't and I usually resorted to having those seats modified/changed.

Winding roads can also supply me a fitting kit only so I can use the blaze panniers I have for my street. Seem to be a good bunch.

This may be a silly question, but I will ask it anyway, I am just about to buy the Kreiga saddlebags duo 36 with saddle fittings, but do I still need to fit T120 pannier frames?

  16. Im now in the market for luggage also.
Did you go for the Kreiga in the end? Certainly look the best here and the quality of Kreiga is well known. The look a tad fiddly though(May or may not be true).

I bought the duo 36 litre bags from winding roads and rails from square deals for use on my Newchurch.
    This was a good move.
They are great bags, roomy, smart and durable.
I can't comment on their waterproof qualites as last summer was so dry but I'm confident they will be upto the job.
They are a bit of a fiddle to start with but like all things use them more and the easier it gets.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

Thank you, I think you made the right move also.
I have a back pack from Kreiga and the quality is excellent also.
I can see me going down this road!
    Look good as well!

You're right about the quality, I have used their dry bags strapped to the rack for a couple of years, they made the decision to buy the panniers an easy one to make!

Just a reminder the Triumph waxed cotton panniers are not waterproof & the official covers are as good as a chocolate teapot
