Featured Whakatane Overnighter

Auckland chapter planned an overnight stay in Whakatane, meeting Taupo and BOP riders in Matamata. This gave some Auckland riders a day ride
The weather was clear so a fresh start and some wet roads from overnight frosts .

Justin enjoyed the mussel pot. The food was good at our lunch stop, the Horse and Jockey in Matamata.

Lake Rotorua was very calm and the trip across to Whakatane had a noticeable temperature drop.

Checked in and ready for a night at the Craic the food was hearty and seafood especially good Not too late with return trip tomorrow

 

Breakfast and then the home leg was full on with winter chill, some rain, and heavy winds Great people and a safe trip across beautiful country.
