Hi chaps, I’ve noticed if the bike is left for a few days to a week, it is reluctant to start... possibly weak battery?? It is fine once started and if used more regularly (8-24 hours) Wondered if anyone else had similar issues before I look further. 2019 Thruxton R
No, mine gets left for weeks at a time and starts fine.it’s covered just under a thousand miles My 675 would be a bugger if left for more than four or five days. I wouldn’t have thought the battery would be weak maybe it’s just tight still. What mileage is on the bike.
Thanks for the replies, bike is 4 months old, though dealer stock. I’ve clocked up c. 2000 miles. I have a battery conditioner on my other bike but didn’t think it should need to be connected to this after every ride, only for longer term ‘storage’ Glyn, it’s sounding just like your 675... did a new battery sort that?
My 2010 Speed Triple was always weak when starting I upgraded the wire loom battery to starter solenoid to starter motor and it turns over a lot stronger when starting I then upgraded the loom from stator to rectifier to battery and I get almost a volt higher charge through the battery when running Maybe Triumph have gone with the accounts again and gone cheap on the wires
To be honest it always just started but turned over really slow, but I did replace it when I part ex’d It to be on the safe side
Have you got an alarm fitted? That can draw from the battery, I had the problem on my tiger and upgraded the battery to a higher cca
No alarm, so might have to investigate the battery more... Wonder what the dealer will say @ just 4 months old?
I would not assume a battery fitted to a new bike has not itself spent a few months in store post it’s own manufacture. I would fully charge it before assuming it is in any way defective.
