It rained solidly today for an hour from the Dartford crossing back to Brighton.

I think I need to update my wardrobe. Waterproof gloves aren't (by a long way) and waterproof trousers aren't much better.

The one thing that really gets me though is rain down the neck. In 40 years of riding I have never found a way stopping water gaining ingress by running down the back of the helmet onto a scarf/Buff or whatever and gradually wicking through to soak the upper body. I've got a "storm" collar on my current jacket and it does an excellent job for the front but there's no way I can get any kind of seal around the back.

Anyone prepared to divulge their secrets of a dry neck (apart from not riding in the rain  ) ?

Edit: I've just remembered that 30 years ago I used to have a Motomod one piece suit which had a hood built in so that the waterproof material was extended up to under the helmet. A brilliant idea and I wonder why no-one has done it since.

I'm sure they don't have this problem in Egypt
