    Hello lovely people

I am planning a motorbike trip to Wales Snowdonia over 4 Nights and 5 Days. Thought I could do the Black Mountain too. Is it worth going the extra miles to do that stretch or should I spend more time in Snowdonia.

So far this is how I have planned it...

    London - Llanwddyn, Oswestry

Llanwddyn, Oswestry – Dinas Mawddwy (Over Night Stay)

    Dinas Mawddwy – Aberdyfi

    Abedovey – Rhayader

    Abergwesyn Pass (Over Night Stay)

    Black Mountain Pass

    Abergwesyn Pass – Beddgelert

    Beddgelert – Capel Curig

Capel Curig – Caernarfon (Over Night Stay)

    Lap of Snowdon

    Caernarfon – Betws-y-Coed

    Betws-y-Coed – Bronaber

    Bronaber – Bala

Bala – Llanwddyn (Over Night stay)

    Llanwddyn - London

Any assistance and advice is greatly appreciated.

Once again thanking you all kindly
    H

It seems like its going to be a solo trip for me. Couple of guys who were supposed to come with me backed off. Don't matter......I shall be completing this trip on my own :)

    Cheers buddy ;)

I heard about the police treatment towards bikers. I'm just planning to have a pleasant ride. It's unknown territory for me so I will be cautious and enjoy the scenery rather than spirited riding. I intend to take it easy and respect the locals and have a pleasant trip. Let's hope I don't get picked on just for being a biker ;)

Ride sensibly, enjoy the scenery and you shouldn’t have a problem.

Watch out for tourists there everywhere.

Thank you all for the heads up. Checked all my luggage yesterday and all seems good. Kriega US30 strapped to the rear and Bagster tank bag. That's it. Traveling light as possible. I am very much looking forward to this trip :)

we've just come back from a week in Wales , found a great campsite just on the outskirts of Llandovery , which is pretty central in Wales , on the edge of the black mountains . great campsite with really good facilities for £7 a night , we didn't intend on staying there for more than one night but ended up staying for 4 , it's a 5 minute walk into town with loads of great pubs, and there's a biker café there called West End café . Also found some great places in the area to explore , Elan valley & the devils staircase , great area , well worth checking out . didn't see a cop all week btw , no speed cameras either , must be some unknown part of Wales I've not been too , but then again , with all motorcycling , if you ride like a knob you will find them lol

    ^^^Thanks buddy :)

It would be nice to have a good dry weather but we all know how it usually pans out o_O

Whatever the weather I'll still ride on. The journey is just going to take a little bit longer ;)

    R_1000!
Just looking at your satnav and wondering...where do folks put the socket to plug the nav into,
also, is it wired direct to battery?

    Enjoy a safe holiday.
    Regards,?Ken.

I wired mine to a switched lead inside the headlight assembly. That way it can't drain the battery when it's off.

Hello mate. Thanks buddy... I'll try and post pics along the way;). It is mounted on the handle bar using Givi case and mounting kit.

It's wired directly to battery but with a switch to turn it on and off. Whenever I stop for a break, I usually just remove the plug to stop draining the battery.

I would do what vulpes suggested. That there is no risk of forgetting to unplug it ;)

Really nice place to ride. I go up on the odd Sunday if weather nice. You will love it. Betws y coed is a really nice place .If you get a chance do Scotland Loch Ness Apple cross pass ,sky and nc500 route ( don’t worry about the east side of route ) it’s just stunning best roads in the uk . I have been doing it every year for the last 6 years. If you go at te end of May beginning of June no later you will not see any midges at all. There is a b&b on the Loch he will, put your bikes in his garage. Or we now rent a cottage for 5 nights and use it as a base then go off and do 300 odd miles a day. It’s just stunning. Go on YouTube and put in Apple cross pass .
