Bought my Speed Triple with a visor and fly-screen fitted but being tall I wasn't sure it was the screen was deflecting the wind blast over my head or straight at it. So have taken them off and fitted the standard back to the clocks and quite like the more Street fighter look.

What do you think? Better with or without?

Took it out for a ride tonight and the wind noise is noticeably less and I think I prefer it, time will tell.

  2. Only used mine with the standard screen (Visor? Which is which? - I've got the lower, painted bit!) so can't compare with yours directly but I did test ride a Tiger 800 with the clear screen straight after a Speed and was surprised at how bad the buffeting was - terrible compared to the Speed. Maybe I'm just the right (wrong?) height.

Not sure.. Kind of like it without, but then I am looking for a screen...just don't fancy the triumph 1...
Already have the clock cowl, now looking for a bit more wind protection.....

I think it looks better with the flyscreen but lose the visor part... but style over substance and all that!

Like riding the bike more with the screen off, probably the hot weather has something to do with that. Wind noise is less (use a Schuberth S3)

Do think the bike looks slightly better with the cowl fitted just not sure about the screen but as the screen has been fitted there are 3 holes in the cowl. Did you plug yours up Brybrem?

Not yet but I've taken the visor off and think it looks much better. I've decided to try the spike bolts as Mr H suggested but just can't decide on the colour. I'm thinking black?

  10. better on - lights look a bit 'hung out on their own' without.
Use a C3 too and (on admittedly limited experience) it definitely suffered buffeting from the screen on the Tiger.

Ive been thinking of taking the dark visor off too and leaving the cowl on, but as mentioned, i have 3 holes in it. What are these 'spike bolts' Mr H?

I've taken the screen off and just put the bolts back in. Job done... Saves spending on bolts or another cowl....

Looked at those. Trouble is finding some for an M5 bolt hole!

Ok,what about the black number plate caps? Will they work or just look naff... Most likely naff I suspect...

Plastic number plate screws are M5 size... Just saying..

Swear the holes in my visor are bigger than 5mm, more like 10 or 12 mm holes. These holes have rubber anchors with threads in the middle of them like the fixings in the front cover over the battery. Perhaps different dealers use different fixings
