Hi, I'm new to this forum and just got a 2012 Scrambler this season. I have just been riding locally but have begun to notice some vibrations in the front wheel when decelerating. I thought it was the gearing at speed but when I pull the clutch it is clearly coming from the front wheel. Its a fine buzzing and I can feel it up through the handlebars. Is this a common Bonneville issue? I have lots of ideas of what it could be but wanted to pick your brains before I start replacing stuff.
2012's quite old. Can you raise the front wheel off the floor then spin it ? Also try and jiggle it about, holding it at the top and bottom ? You should be able to detect rough wheel bearings. If you try and move the wheel forwards and backwards and there is movement, that would indicate steering bearings are shot. Have you had a new tyre fitted recently ?
