Ive noticed a slight tingling, on the right side of the handlebars. Not a lot, takes about an hour before I think about it. Anybody else notice that on a speedy?
Its not so much, Im wondering if I could get rid of it using bar end weights, I cant find anything to cause it. But now that Ive noticed it Im waiting for it. Its annoying me:mad:

    Will I or won't I, tempting...

Actually, K, I've had the '07 model from new and covered about 45,000 miles on it and never noticed any vibration. My new '11 seems just as vibration free.

Ther. See I can do 'sensible'! :upyeah:

If it's not much, bar end weights have got to be worth a try.

I get white finger from mine on the left hand.... Right side never been an issue but my left hand goes numb.
Pretty sure it left over from a previous accident when I damaged the elbow, that and using drills etc etc for my work...
Got so bad on the French trip it was causing pain in wrist and shoulder....
May pay a visit to the doc if it carries on... There is a very high frequency vibration on the bar... Nothing as bad as what I got from the twin cylinder and I experienced the same issues on that....

I do occasionally get tingling and numbness in my right hand when riding, but had it with my previous bikes (1200Bandit and Ducati 1200 Multi) so I guess it's more me than the Speed Triple.
Moving fingers and slightly shifting riding position usually helps, also making a conscious effort not to hold on so tight also helps

Oh so you want boring old helpful do you?

    Well here goes.....

Maybe you are gripping the bars too firmly or it could be posture related. Make sure the fastenings on your gloves arent too tight. If you are not wearing something warm over your torso, no gloves will keep your hands warm. The blood withdraws from the extremities to warm the core. Do your gloves have sufficient padding in them to soak up the vibration?

Might even be the start of carpal tunnel syndrome?

Im pretty sure its the bike. If I ride for an hour or two on speedy then change to the cbx, the vibration is gone.

It could just be the level of vibration on the speedy plus my hands. Maybe not as serious as carpal tunnel, though when I was welding, that was in my thoughts alot. One of my work mates lost all feeling in his left hand through using angle grinders too much.

Im going to play around with bar end weights, when I get back from the steel island.....

    Try ensuring the basics first.

Do you have a balanced front wheel?
Are you getting vibration breaking, meanin warped discs or sticky pads?
Front forks ok? Any weeping from seals?

The front wheel Im guessing is ok, the front tyre is only a couple of thousand kilometers old, but I have thought about it. (just not had it checked). There is no specific speed or type og road. Its just something that comes sneaking...

Front breaking is very smooth, so I dont think its that. Pads look very good, nice and even...
    Forks, looking feeling good.
I dont know why its just on the right hand side, there is nothing I can see that should/could be the reason.
Maybe I will pull the front off and get it checked, if only for peice of mind...

Might be worth checking balance, you grip more with your right as its the throttle, so more vibration felt

I suffered with right had pins and needles after 40min of riding, new tyre and balanced, issue has gone away
