I am very lucky and very proud to be the owner of CERBERUS :cool:my Rocket 3R:)
But while I’ve been on lockdown in the garage with him and making the luggage system a couple of things have been bugging the shit out of me
Firstly take a look at the brake line in the first picture
The banjo had been tightened at quite an acute angle :(
This was putting an unnecessary strain on the brake line
19BA7BE1-7A2A-462E-99BA-F43F0FA75C4B.jpeg Not a big problem for myself as I just slightly slackened it off and adjusted it to this position and matched it up with the clutch line :)
No fluid was lost but to be on the safe side I tied the lever back overnight :)
Glad to report no problem :) A66D2646-19F4-4934-85B5-ED3B9828D22B.jpeg this one however I can’t do anything about until I get the chance to get upto Newcastle Triumph and point it out to them
The Triumph logo on the back of the seat is way off centre and I can’t stop looking at the Feckin thing:(
I’m gonna see about them replacing it  D6343993-81CE-4D46-961F-D39A26FC4E6E.jpeg

Nice job on the cables mate. Like you the off centre triumph badge would get on my nerves. Hopefully they will replace it...

Can see what you mean, they may have one they can change out for you but betting the whole batch was like yours, good luck with that though shy bairns and all that,
May be interesting to see if others who own an R3 on here report the same wonky seat logo

How the hell did the Triumph logo pass a quality control check?
Assuming that there are any QC checks of course :kissing:

Also, when did they switch from an embossed logo. To a cheaply printed logo?

I'm curious to see if much of that are widespread first year production irregularities. I would not be thrilled either especially at the price point those Rockets go for.

    Hey Dilli,

I showed the photo of the pillion seat to Mrs DD & she instantly came up with a solution :grinning:

..."Tell him to have a couple of JD's & the logo will look absolutely fine!"...

As problem solvers go. She's obviously far more highly skilled than I gave her credit for

Probably wouldn’t have noticed it for a while because the bike only has a side stand
But I’ve got the bike propped up level and with putting the seat on and off so many times whilst working on it, it was standing out more and more :(
If they don’t replace it I’ll have to black it out or something cos I look at it every Feckin time now :sob:

If they whinge about changing it.
Point out that everytime you ride the bike & people see the seat. It's highlighting Triumphs slapdash workmanship.
Ask if that's the impression they want to create with potential buyers?

I reckon that approach will definitely get you the result you want mate! ;)

Yep, that would wreak havoc with my OCD! Especially since all most folks are gonna see of an R3 is the arse end. ;)

Totally agree here. I've got rid of bikes for less (had to run down to the parking bay and then review photos of my Speed Twin seat to make sure the logo was centered - thank feck it is). It's Triumphs' most costly and (arguably) most prestigious model and I'd want them to swap it immediately - unacceptable QC all around.

Get the other R3 owners to post a similar pic up Dilli so you can show the dealership it's a crock of shoite in case they try and tell you they're all like that sir......I can see why you're miffed as it's a bit naff for a 20k bike

    Absolutely Don,
It's the kinda thing I could shrug off on a £1000 Chinese copy 125.
But not a £20,000 supposedly premium brand bike.
I reckon Triumph will play ball though. A new rear seat might cost us £250? But to Triumph it's gonna be a sub £50 part.

£1000 on a Chinese 125, :scream: I would sooner buy an old second hand jap bike.
