Just think as a dying community we all need to help each other
And when I say dying community I mean that there are less and less people taking up motorcycles now
But if I can start at 40 so can many others

Says a lot about our little fraternity that so many positive responses to this great idea. I'm no mech either but would be more than willing to do any checks within my skill set. Get it on :):):)

    Hi Chough,

Thank you for your offer of help.

The service has been running for quite some time. However, it hasn't exactly been over used.
Having said that, we have had a few great results. With potential buyers being saved a long/wasted journey. Just by somebody local taking a quick look at the bike in question.

Many thanks to @dilligaf for inspecting a used modern T120 Bonnie for me today.
    Apparently it's a beauty :grinning:
I now need to decide if I can justify (to myself) such an expensive toy? o_O

Somebody on here said it’s better to regret something you’ve done rather than something you didn’t do :p

    One life mate.....one life :imp:
    It’s VERY comfortable :kissing_heart:

No T120 for me yet guys.
My offer was rejected but I'm not as bothered as I was when I first found out.

Dilli kindly took a load of photos for me but he was struggling to send them last night.
They arrived this morning. Here's one of the wheels....
    IMG_0309.jpg
Dilli did say the spokes showed the early signs of a bit of corrosion.
Maybe I'm too fussy? However the bike has only covered 260 miles from new FFS!
I wouldn't accept this on a Chinese 125 costing £800 new. Let alone a bike costing over ten times as much.
In fact this may have put me off buying a new generation Triumph full stop?

On a 7yr old bike. That level of minor corrosion wouldn't bother me "quite" as much Steve. However, a bike with only 260 miles is a different matter!

It's not all bad news though mate. Thanks to this used bike inspection thread & Dilli kindly viewing the bike for me. It saved me a 400 mile plus round trip.

Thanks again Dilli, your a gent! :grinning:

PS.... Any of you guys live near Porth in Wales? I might need a much older (properly built) Bonnie inspecting please?

I am more than happy to help anyone who is looking at a bike within 10 or so miles of Swindon (I’m in a little place called Calne in Wiltshire)

Any excuse to go and look at a bike............

I finally moved to North Devon at the weekend so happy to help out anybody wanting a bike looked over in this area.
By the by, I rode from Northants cross country with just a few motorway miles - took a few hours and I ached by the finish but had the A4 from Newbury to Marlborough almost to myself at around 6 in the morning. Magical :)

You can add me as i have around 45+ years of experience with bikes and engines in general, not so up on all the foibles of modern bikes but an engine is an engine, and i have had plenty of experience tuning high powered Japanese cars, and have built quite a few custom bikes, so within 20 odd miles of Kings Lynn give me a shout.
