    Good morning,
Is it possible to replace the USB-A cable and socket with USB-C (T2501419)?
Is it the same connection and does it work properly?
    Have a nice weekend.

Fascinating question that the electronic engineer part of me couldn't resist.

On these cables you simply have a connector/s at one end 0v (gnd) & +"12"v and the USB connector at the other end (the connector internals simply reduce the voltage from +"12" to +5v and applies 0v (gnd) & +5v to the appropriate contacts in the USB connector.

According to the Fowlers and World Of Triumph parts catalogues T2501419 is simply listed as "USB Charger, 5V" and that could be any format of USB socket.

So the answer to your question is, probably: Do you know for certain that T250419 is USB C and not USB A?

The list of bikes that T250419 applies to is pretty comprehensive across the Triumph range (including my 2018 Street Cup which I know is USB A). This doesn't surprise me because "if something works don't mess with it" and "don't reinvent the wheel" are two good engineering rules of thumb, especially to keep manufacturing costs down.

If T250419 is now USB C, then it could be a useful upgrade for some and would be an indication that Triumph "upgraded" the under-seat USB socket to the more modern format.

Anybody with a Euro 5 Bonny or Street / Speed Triple know what's under their seat?

I bought quite recently from dare I say temu other Chinese sites available a set of adapters for less than £2 such as C to USB C to A and vice versa you get the idea saves any cutting and giving the bike electrics any wobbles that it doesn't like plus your not changing anything that could put a purest off buying your bike further down the road

Thanks a lot for your answer. Unfortunately I don't know for sure that T250419 is USB-C. I just searched for parts MY>21. According to our dealer new machines have USB-C sockets.

It would indeed be great if someone with a T120 model year newer than 2022 could check...

Thanks a lot for your reply.
The thing is my USB-A socket is broken and it was never able to load my phone or even hold the charge while using navigation.
By the way, I don't want to meddle with the wiring. I would ideally use the existing connector and just replace the last part of cable with the socket from the connector on.
