This is my other machine. I just love Urals although the newer ones are disk braked all round and have EFI for heavens sake. Luckily for me this is one of the last carb' models.
The pic' is the Mrs. and I on the day we test rode it.
We have taken it to the south and west of France, the West Country three up with luggage, a couple of weekend rally's and done a spot or two on a film set amongst some sidecar meets along with general blatting around to get the shopping and just for fun etc.

The Ural Retro Sport is the rare beast that is:
A Ural Retro and a lightweight Velorex Sport sidecar.
Whilst Ural outfits come with Ural sidecars, which are fine sidecars, and lower geared drive boxes this bike is the solo geared model. The theory being that it can deal with the lightweight chair as it also has 18" RoadTest.jpg wheels rather than the usual 19" hence lowering the gearing a tad.
I confirm it works for me although one spends more time in third (out of the four forward gears) than perhaps on the other versions.

Thank you, yeah we love the picture. It was taken by a friend of ours from her Merlin sidecar in front of us.
It is well set up RR. I think it's one of, if not the nicest outfits I've ridden in that respect. Hands of bars at any speed and keeps going straight. No steering damper nuffink. Just how I like them.

One of the scariest experiences in my life was riding in the sidecar of my brothers combo down the a3 in the early 70's. He'd risen solos up til the day before when he bought it, all I did was watch how close the curb waS getting to the wheel, some rear bumpers of cars we overtook I wouldn't have got a rizzla paper between!
