The turn signals on my 1977 Triumph t140 work only when the handlebars are turned to the left.
    Any suggestions?

Welcome aboard Eric. If you were a long time member I'd say something facetious like, don;t turn right then, but because you're a newbie I will refrain.. Anyway, whilst you're waiting for a sensible answer, enjoy the ride bud.

Only use them if you are turning left, anything else will simply confuse. :joy:

    Sorry.

First off welcome to the forum Eric :cool:,
Agree with Ron - definitely a broken wire losing contact when stretched (right in your case)
Bit of wiggling required:p:D no not from you just stand still and wiggle the harness try and locate the approx position of break in wire, if lucky and you locate, slice outer harness cover and root out broken wire and solder, :D:D

Thanks all for your input. I did some wiggling.
I took the tank of and I think the problem is in the main harness and looks like I might need to re wire.

You'll never be sure until you investigate it completely, open up the harness and have a good root aboot to find, nowt hard about re-wrapping up a harness but great satisfaction in fixing it yourself.
All this is getting more and more the norm with bikes, harness's are made with very little room for movement, especially around head stock area.

Rather than fixing the harness, wouldn’t it just be easier to take three left turns instead of one right?

Sorry, I was just applying a politician’s approach to simple problem solving to motorcycle maintenance....

Ahhhh...the voice of reality....a wise decision....after all...the longer I’m on the bike the happier I am.
    Cheers eh!
