Just noticed on the new SS I picked least week the the rear tyre seems to be tubeless only. The front carries a "On tube rim use a tube" marking but nowhere on the rear does it mention using a tube. Hmmm...............

I've got tubeless tyres on spoked wheels so have fitted inner tubes. Most, if not all, tubeless tyres can be run with a tube.

I'm just curious why one tyre is marked for use with or without tubes and the other isn't. The owner's handbook does state to look for the "use a tube" marking on tyres. They are obviously OK to use being recommended by both the bike and tyre manufacturers.

The problem is not just the tyre or tube but also the rim. Some tubeless tyres have internal ribs that chafe tubes generating dangerous heat. Ditto the tyre/rim combination needs to match.
