I know I only post on here for help, and, here I am again......
My 1200cc when it runs is a beauty to ride, pig to move but a dream to ride! I am now more of a fair weather rider due to work so she has sat in the garage over most of the the winter, over the last few months I have been trying to get her going, she turns over fine, occasionally thinks about firing but that is all. Done the sparks, changed the fuel, carbs appear okay any ideas???

Have you drained fuel through the carbs to get rid of any settlement and gunk in there?
I had a bike that was in the lock up for a long while and went to start and got nothing, by draining fuel through the carbs, it got rid of the old stuff and released the floats that had caught on some gunk

After the drain, she started up fine. I hope you have the same result

Tyr: are you able to put your hand or a rag over the end of the exhaust, turn the engine over and smell it to see if there is fuel coming through?

As always, and I am sure you have done htis, but a bloody good charge of the battery and check the terminals are nice n tight.

    Good luck

I've run fuel through, fresh tank of fuel, cleaned carbs, new fully charged battery.....
Taken plugs out and cleaned, fuel is definitely getting through.
Thanks for your thoughts and other ideas gratefully appreciated.

I remember I once had to clear it out as it had flooded. Turned off the fuel, drained the carbs and took out the plugs, then turned over the engine a good while to air out as much as possible, then turned fuel back on and plugs back in and she fired up.

Failing this it would seem there isn't a spark, check the wires etc, make sure the caps are on nice and tight to the sparkers and also at the other end, in fact along the whole HT lead.

I don't know the machine too well so I am just throwing ideas out there.

Are you getting a spark ? Pull a plug lead, stick an old plug on it and earth to block, check you got a spark !!!!

Tried easy start? not everybody like it, but if a lack of fuel will show up, if it fires then dies! Had a wee 2 stroke which wouldn't start without easy-start, then ran fine once running. Left a few weeks then wouldn't start again without it !!!!
