Hi guys, I have aquired a Triumph Thunderbird T6 1956 not so long ago. I am trying to start it up at the moment and there seem to be no spark. I was told the bike was running not so long ago and fuel looks fresh. The battery is flat, but as I understand the battery for the lights. As I understand my bike does not have a magneto? How does it work then? I checked for spark all the way down to the points and no spark. If you have any links that can be useful that would be great!

    Thanks in advance!

You have a distributor, battery is needed.

    dead battery=no spark

    old corroded points=no spark

probably should bring it to a professional

A 56 should have magneto, its the part on the back of the engine with the points. If the bike has been standing for a long time and there is no spark of any kind its probably the magneto has become weak.
