Sorry don't think I would fit being the size I am and the knees are only just coping with the Speed Triple. Should sell at under 3 K but maybe not on this forum as there only appears to be me and you here!
Is there anyone else out there???

I love both bikes (the mrs has the Street), a lot depends on how big you are: 6" shorter and about 5 stone lighter then I would have probably gone for the Street.

What do you think of the standard suspension Richard?

Not sure if you mean on the Street or the Speed but both bikes I find quite firm but I have come from A Ducati Multistrada 1200. My Speed handles well but I'm still early days with it, much less dive under braking with the front forks, very stable but I do find some of the rough roads hard work on the base of my back.
Perhaps play with the settings a bit once run in. The Mrs has no complaints with the Street Triple but as its her first bike she has no comparison. Having riden both bikes I can see no reason to pay extra for the R version

Im 6ft 1, 14 stone, do you think the street would be small then.

    I'm 6' 4" and 18 stone

But my guess is the Street would feel a bit small only way to find out.... go to a dealer and get a test ride on both, you dont have to buy their bike. Just beware they will want you to sign that you will pay the first 800 - £1000 if you bin it!

I had a test ride on a street triple, i'm about 6'5" and 16 stone, i didn't feel that big on it but it did feel a bit like a bicycle ( very thin ) i found it quite nippy, but i settled for an 08 speed triple. Just got to play a bit more with the suspension, every bump feels like i'm gonna be launched out the seat lol, very harsh.
