I have had ongoing unresolved problems with my new dealer purchased 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT since early on in its life beginning at approximately 4500 km.

The first signs of trouble were the bike failing to start and idle on the first attempt. The bike will start quickly and stall. This symptom began to occur only after the bike was started from dead cold and quite intermittently. However, this symptom increased in frequency and severity to the point where this would occur after only sitting for several hours and taking up to 4 attempts to start and idle normally. This went on continuously while the bike was into the dealership 4-5 times with no cause identified. I was able to record this happening on multiple occasions and show this to the dealership as proof. The next issue which began at approximately 15000 km is that when the bike is good and warm after being ridden for 15-20 minutes the engine idle will idle at 1800 rpm when at a stop, clutch in or out, transmission in neutral or in gear. Again, the motorcycle was into the dealership 2-3 time for this defect with no cause identified. Also again, I was able to capture video of this fault as well to provide as proof.

Last October I decided to take my bike to another dealership over two hours away for a fresh start to diagnose these problems. This is now the end of March, and the motorcycle is still with the next dealership shop and there has not been a diagnosis. The were however able to duplicate the high idle issue on the worktable. Both dealerships cited lack of timely communication with Triumph tech support for assistance in the troubleshooting process.

For the last month or so I have been in communication with Triumph after sales customer support due to the lack of progress. Triumph has disappointed me greatly with the lack of response to my situation. My initial request in my contact with them was to request a buy-back as my bike has been in the shop nearly a cumulative year of my ownership undergoing repeated tests with no fix for the problems that I am experiencing. This request was denied and I was instructed to "work with my dealer" towards a resolution. I responded to further explain that this is what I have been doing and this not working, my warranty is soon to expire with these ongoing problems. I also asked several direct questions regarding what is considered by Triumph to be a reasonable amount of time for a repair as well as what point will there be some sort of escalation in the process as the status quo is not producing. None of my questions were answered definitively. There was a hint to the possibility of a warranty extension at a later date. My last communication was a direct request for some sort of meaningful escalation on Triumphs part as I felt my concerns were simply being dismissed. Their response is now that there is no concern present for the dealer to move forward with and no additional guidance can be provided to the dealer from Triumph.

I am disgusted with the lack of product support from Triumph. I absolutely love riding my Tiger and think it is an amazing machine however with this level of "support" from the manufacturer I am done. I have negotiated a trade with the original purchasing dealer on another new motorcycle purchase and no it won't be another Triumph...I will never own another Triumph, period.

Beware to all those considering making a Triumph purchase as if you end up with a lemon as I did, you will likely be on your own!
