    Guys.

I have a chrome luggage rack on my Bonneville and wondered if its easy enough to use that to fit a top box? I notice now the top boxes have their own fitting plate and wondered if that can be secured to the luggage rack and then of course the top box will then sit on that or do I have to work out some other way of fitting. I seem to be going to work with a back pack full of rubbish so a top box could be another idea?

    Cheers

Great idea. I would re-inforce the inside of the top box at the mounting points with 5mm thick aluminium or upvc plates

The rack makes a perfect base for fixing to.
As crispey and Ken have said, plates or big diameter 'penny' washers inside the box and saddle clamps (like pipe fixings) with stainless steel Ny-lock nuts, bolts and washers.
4 Clamps on the outer rack bars should suffice using M6 bolts.

Squaredeals have a couple of top boxes in their 'clearance' section. Not too expensive either.
