Has anyone else had problems resetting the trips with the toggle button? Mine won’t reset either by pushing when it says push the ✔️ Unless I’m being really thick!?!
Sorry mate. I WAS being thick! Wasn’t reading the side tray! Doh Confused the odometer with the trip. Derrrrr
my toggle button does not work.anyone know where to get a micro switch. on a street scrambler 900 2017
Hi there, i don't have these problems on my xe, I find the switch gear a bit fiddly anyway and tend not to use it, accept the indicators. I have other issues, does your engine make this noise ? people are telling me its normal??? https://youtu.be/jU5FBhw13lM
Did you mean to remove your video of your noise? I'm interested to hear what yours is doing – I'm a self-proclaimed authority on the kind of noises that a Scrambler 1200 shouldn't make
Sorry my friend , it’s back on . I hear a metal to metal sound at low revs and idle. More loud when engine is hot and oil is thin. I think I have a loose valve clearance or something, but I’m new to triumph bikes.
So the good news is that's not the sound associated with the balancer shafts that I thought you might be posting. Perception of what's acceptable, and people's tolerance to excessive engine noise appears to vary massively, but clearly something is tapping on the left side only – which I personally wouldn't have described as 'normal'. Is it a new bike...under warranty? What does the dealer say?
Thanks for your comments. I have 5 months warranty left from a main dealer. I did a drive by the dealership and asked a triumph engineer to give it a quick listen. He recognised the sound I was concerned about and said it was normal . Since this time, still not happy, I’ve asked the dealer to do a premature valve check. This they will do, but I will have to pay £300. If there is something found adrift I’m told triumph will sort it out. So, I guess I have no choice - I’ll have to pay to get it looked at. I find the tapping quite concerning, I feel it won’t take long for something to break.

That's a tough situation to be in - it's very difficult once the dealer claims that it's 'normal' or a 'characteristic' and therefore not covered by warranty. I'd have thought that 'normal' would present the same sound from both sides of the engine - perhaps ask to ride a demonstrator if they have one, as it may help to get a direct comparison.
Good point . I’ll arrange to see the maintenance manager and give them the chance to prove the bikes noise characteristics . Thanks
put bike into shop and it appears to be the harness lum which was a recall and letters sent out in early says with on full lock on steering , Lum would stretch and bike would cut out . In early days this happened about three times with me droping bike. Their was a recall letter for this.
toggle scroll button working after new harness Lum fitted. can now turn off abs and traction control,Athough not a mot failure
I've had the recall for the SS wiring loom mod. Had the bike booked in twice but had to cancel because of Covid ussues. I've wrapped the loom in a piece of old inner tube where it passes the head stock to give if some protection. I think this is where the problem is supposed to be although mine still looks OK.
is this on a street scrambler. If you had a recall letter,You can get a out of date warranty claim. Triumph now also do a extended warrentry after two years ,but you have to pay for it. The problem is the harness lum Isi two short and on turning it stretches.
