Tioga pass just opened on Monday and it's my goal to ride this Summer to go see my daughter in Reno (I live in the central valley). Anyone on here done this ride? Any tips?
I drove the pass back in 1994 as part of a driving holiday around California, heading for Four Corners, Barstow and San Diego. I remember snow on the verges in May (it had just opened that weekend), but couldn't offer any advice other than this British tourist driving it without any problems. One funny thing - as the air pressure changed as we drove higher a bag of potato chips hissed open...... I was sure we had a snake in the car!!
