Tiger To America

Yep...normal....I've had several tigers and Americas....tba has a relatively long wheelbase and handles accordingly.
Suspension...front and back is pretty pogo like too...
Try progressive front springs....might improve things.
I liked all my tba's but do a lot of miles....two up touring too.
There are better bikes for my needs.
Currently running a Tiger 955i and a Thunderbird 1600.
Both work well in different ways.
Last year did 30k miles on the pair of them.
Oh and I'm now 66...will carry on as long as I can do the miles..

 

My brother bought a ‘16 America and I’m not a lover of it. It has to bribed and wrestled round corners. Front Tyre pressure can not be neglected, I think tyre selection could be a big factor.
I rode a thunderbird lt and didn’t have the same handling problems.

The Thunderbird handles pretty well for a cruiser style bike.
Just come back from a 2k miles tour of France and Belgium on my 1600.
Two up with luggage.
Did the job very well.

 

My America went great round corners, peg's, exhaust and frame down !!!

Are you still on the shitey Metzler tyres ??? They are shite. Once you've chucked some Avon Cobra on it, you'll agree.

Above all things...
never put Metzler 888's on a TBA.
Horrible, horrible experience.
Creates vile pulsing vibration.

 

I bought a Harley V-Rod it was definitely not for me even tho I thought that was what I wanted, like you low down, feet on the ground, but aroundabouts and tight corners proved a challenge. So after aStreet I now have a Speed R with a lust racing lowering kit and a lowered seat, job done. But love the 765 so who knows

My Beloved rates the pillion comfort on the TBA....we went from Kent round Scotland on ours 2 years back.
Surprisingly capable tourer...other than soggy springs.

 

If they're the old 880's it won't be a problem...there was a batch of Brazilian made 888's which caused problems on many bikes.
Maybe they sorted it in the end.... that was two years back.
