After spending ages cleaning out the area under the seat, I came up with an approach to seal the space under the seat from some of the mess thrown up by the rear wheel. I have tried using Stormguard jumbo rubber foam weather strip. It has an adhesive side and is a bit like memory foam. In my case the ACF50 is stopping it stick, but I am hoping that it is wedged in enough to stay put. I am not expecting it to be totally clean under there. Hopefully this stops the worst of the road salt building up in the winter, but there are plenty of other routes in so this may not work.
