    Hi guys,

just a sec to introduce myself..

Me, located in germany, not even riding a triumph is coming across
    with hope for help..(?)

A mate of mine is riding a Triumph 1200 XC (I think it is) model 2018.
When we are out for a ride it happens from time to time that it does not start at
at all (keyless) after taking a little stop.
It appears when coming back to bike and he tries to start, he gets just a "peep"..."peep"..peep"
as a return. No signs on display or any starting procedure on display either.
It's just not doing anything apart from that "peep" signal.
Then after a while (might be 3..4..5.. tries to start) it's acting normally and the bike starts as it should.

Any of yours who has had that experience as well or has any idea why that is?

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Derk, welcome in, it’s a pretty new bike so I’m guessing knowledge of keyless ignition is limited, I know it’s obvious but he’s not setting the immobiliser? The other thing is with the keyless. I think, is you shouldn’t have to press anything once you are close enough it should automatically set everything for starting. If you can’t find s solution take it back to the dealer. Good luck and let us know

On the Tiger 1200 - you have to press the fob so that the start switch can operate. Do any lights show on the display?

Battery in the fob? My car wouldn't start, because the fob wasn't 'found', was just the fob battery running low. Worth a try?

Ps ask in technical help, better responses than just using newbie section.

I witnessed just once (out of approx. 10) that there was a red light blinking
3..4..times before it turned off again.
On all others failings there wasn't any lights what I am pretty sure about as I
was looking on display for any error messages or something similar might come up whilst that "peep" entertained us.

He operates as same as all the other times.... but not working.
And then, for what ever reason, it works and done,- jump on go riding.

    Not sure about "FOB" ?
    Do you mean the key(-less)-thing?
Sorry, english is not my native language :(

    Worth a try?

This could be a start! I will let him know and best thing to do is
back to his dealer to get this sorted I guess.

    Thanks guys.

I will keep you posted regarding this.
    All the best

Hi derk. First he has to press the kill switch forward (top of switch) to activate. Then press back (bottom of switch). It will take a few seconds to then set itself before the bike can then be started by pressing the starter/kill switch.

    That works! Great advice.
Now my mate is much more confident to go for a longer ride :)

I want to say a big thank you! This is greatly appreciated!

Time to say goodbye now and we might chat again at some point in time.
cheers and all the best to all of you.
