Hi guys , I've never been into private plates or had one on any car or bike I've owned but just so happened the M reg Thunderbird 900 I've just acquired has one on and it's really suited to the bike ! I think it's bit cool . ?

    Nice plate.

I've had two in the past that came on a couple of bikes that were a bit different.
    B666 AML on a GPz900R and K12 KAW on a ZX12R.

It's a shame that you can't swap newer reg plates onto older vehicles.
If you could, the Jxx EEP one on my Tiger Sport would go straight on the Jeep I own as well :)

That would be nice , makes them easier to remember too ! My dad once had a Triumph Acclaim car that had the letters GUS on its original plate and his name was Angus but everyone knew him as Gus !

Tracey,my tiger, came with T800 EWC, they're the previous owners initials, doesn't mean much to Me but haven't been bothered to change it.
I have TR10MFF on Doris, it amused me,
One day I'll get it made up in line as a "show plate"

I have personalised plate on my 08. Bonneville America, got it about the same time as the Marvel Movies were coming out.

It's - CAPT , I get asked a lot if I'm ex-army and yes but not Commissioned. No No No ! I liked the character Captain America in the movies, so named the bike.

I agree DD , I've seen guys in the past have them and needing to explain to people what they refer to which seems a bit daft to me. But ones that are obvious such as names and such can be quite cool . This one suits the bike down to a T , probably the reason it's stayed with her over the years and as you say it came free with the bike so it's nice to have it.

Brilliant Crispy , checked out your photos , Doris looks great and the plate to us bikers is cracking , your one would probably be recognised by people with only a passing interest in bikes too . Good idea for the show plate to hang in the garage

I had to buy one for my TD5 Discovery, wife refused to drive around in a car with STD !!!!!

I have ORR (my surname) on the Jag now, because the Freelander is SN08 - and she likes being a snob :D

I know private plates are a bit marmite, but I like having mine, saves having to remember what your number plate is when you sign in to business', drop off at airport, order spares, etc.. Never had one on a bike, as I usually change them every 3 or so years, whereas cars I keep them for 9/10 years usually.

Haha don't blame your wife for that ! Yes I can see that a plus is the easy to remember factor , especially when getting on a wee bit like me . Cheers Mr O .

Very nice mate , just think of your growing collection as an investment, could turn into a nice little earner and as you say great excuse for buying other cars/bikes!

    Another Jeep owner, hello there.

This is mine all tucked up next to the Bonnie in the garage.

In the 80s I used to see a Lotus Elan on my way to work most days with the 130 LOX

He'd closed the gaps up to read B0LOX
