hi everyone I have just bought a triumph thunderbird 2011 model 1600 cc love riding it down under Queensland Australia but find it doesn’t always start on first crank usually fires on second attempt is this the norm as I had Japanese bikes in the past which fire up first go any ideas like to hear from all thanks bruce

Welcome to the mad house Brucee (nice to see ya to see ya nice ahem) I've had a Tbird for a while now and to be honest mine starts first time usually needs a good long press on the start button though, unlike some bikes that start quick.
Decomp actuators, can cause problems, they sit on the end of the can shaft, over number 2 cylinder, and can shape off, but that is looking at the black side of things, as above, need to hold button in longer than jap bikes, my LT the same, oh welcome

Welcome from another new member. I have a 2014 1700cc T-Bird and, like the others above, it generally requires a long press on the starter switch. One easy thing to look at is your battery voltage. If the bike is 6-7 years old and the battery hasn't been changed, it might be on the way out. Mine should be replaced, but I just keep charging it and it holds for a while. When the volts drop, the bike gets harder to start.
Welcome in, good looking bike! Try hooking it up to a known healthy battery, car, don’t have engine running, or bike.
