Now that I have suffered the dreaded and expensive sprag failure, can anyone suggest a battery upgrade option.
(Extras fitted include:- daytime running lights, boom stereo, air horn, Garmin satnav, auxiliary night lights and alarm/immobiliser).

    Thanks
    Paul

Got a bright yellow:eek::cool: Motobatt in my '95 Trident. Been in there for around 21 months or so and it has held its charge beautifully in that time despite irregular useage, and it spins the engine over with great gusto and enthusiasm making starting easy. Approx 190cca (cold cranking amps) available at the push of a button!
    Just sayin' like!

I believe Yuasa do an equivalent version (similar cca) which some may prefer.

Yes. I would go for the Yuasa YTX14AHL-BS. 210 CCA. I have known some motobatt's to split open.

Lol I love this thread, yuasa, lithium, motbatt et al.
I have a motobatt on my Sprint, been perfect all the time I had it on, others have said the same, some have said to buy yuasa, others pay a ridiculous price for lithium at double the cost
You pays the money and takes the choice, good luck

Motobatt is the best. But get it from a reputable dealer as there are some fakes out there. I'm useing a later ecu and that makes sure the engine is turning over at least 200 rpm before making the ignition live and protecting the sprag.

If you keep the battery well charged or use your bike regularly you wont have any issues.

Have you upgraded the charging system to cope with the extra demands of all the extra's you have fitted ? ( upgrade wire sizes & shorter cable run to battery )

If the charging system cant keep up you will just run the battery flat, no matter how big a battery you fit
