Thruxton Thruxton 1200 Fender Eliminator Throwing Codes

Ran into a problem this week with my Thruxton, was on a ride this week and it threw a code. I have 6000 miles on the bike and about 4000 of those have the fender eliminator installed.

It's the New Rage kit, I see other posts about installing a diode in line, would that apply to my kit as well? or should I chase other issues? Anybody else have issues with this kit?

I cleared the taillight code and it came back within 40 miles.

It's odd that the kit lasted 4000 miles before throwing codes for it, but it did.
