Loads of threads about them on the web; they do what they are supposed to i.e. remove the free play.

Debate rages as to whether they are necessary etc

    My position is...

    Are they necessary - no.
Do they improve throttle response - no
Do they make you more attractive to potential sexual partners - no
Are they good value for money - no
Have I bought them - yes

I've got them as the looseness in the throttle assembly felt a little "cheap" compared to my BMW. With the spacers in place it felt the same, but there's no way I would even pretend that they gave any actual genuine benefit other than making it a bit less rattly.

At last, an informed, honest appraisal :)

Made my own along with something to remove the security screws. They’ve stopped low speed jerkiness on less than smooth road surfaces when trying to maintain a constant speed. I’d expect the genuine item to do no less. I didn’t update my profile to include having throttle spacers as I already have far too many sexual partners than I can cope with ;) They’re probably needed more after fitting heated grips when any jerkiness becomes more noticeable.
