Hi All, I have a 2016 S3 R, which up until this afternoon has caused me no issues at all. However, riding today, the throttle grip is very loose as is the kill switch housing. If you turn the throttle, the grip and kill switch housing starts to turn towards you and is very loose. For the life of me I can't see how you tighten both up. There are screws on the kill switch housing, but these are all tight. Any ideas? All help appreciated. Oli
Welcome to the family. Do hit the upload a file button bottom right and show the inmates your bike. Most of the switch's have a little lug / spud which locates into a hole in the handlebars. If not just wrap some electrical tape around the bars and retighten. Joe
Bit of a mystery why it has suddenly become loose when the screws appear to be tight? If it was me I would take it apart to see if anything has broken and try to figure out what is going on.
Maybe there was a little pin that located the switch housing in a small hole in the bar. My T509 had those.
I agree there will be a locating pin of some sort. As both the throttle and switch housing are rotating together I suspect that they might be pinned together and have only one pin into a hole in the bar to stop them turning as a pair?
If your throttle housing is anything like mine there are 4 screws. The two larger screws secure the switch body to the bar with the help of a locating pin. The two recessed smaller screws hold the two halves of the housing together. If the two small screws are removed the housing can be split but the bottom half stays clamped to the bar. Edit......this is for the ride-by-wire throttle, the cable type may be different.
