OK, so I decided I fancied a triumph america and after a few weeks looking I bought one last week, so far so good. Today my decided she would borrow some of my gear ( a bit of a poor fit) and come out with me. She's done this before on other bikes and left it at that, but not this time. She is now trawling the net looking for her own correctly fitting gear. I guess I should be pleased but I just know it's going to cost...
    Roll on some good weather.

Thanks for the advice. We don't have a lot of big stores in Hull, but we'll have to troll around the ones we have or travel further to get more selection.
    Cheers

Hi Andy, I had the same dilemma with my missus. We got tempted by ebay but I decided to take her down to j and s to try some on, anyway she managed to get into xxs on one make and xl on another, ladies sizes, so I decided to buy her some stuff there and then! If you can't get to a jands I found 5 ways near hull fc stadium very helpful. They stock halvarssons too.

I put Mrs Al off back seating years ago, best thing I ever did. No extra cost for kit, no whinging for 'bending' speed limits, smooth rapid progress etc. Absolute heaven:)

    Hi, Andy.
Try Infinity, Piccadilly, York or J & S, Marshgate, Doncaster. I believe J & S and Hein Gericke both have shops on Regent Street in Leeds. Also Get Geared have a place on the outskirts of Leeds - Gelderd Road springs to mind.
All this information is brought to you courtesy of my memory:p .... you have been warned!!

Well after work today I took my wife to a local shop to look at some bike gear.....well after she'd tried on about 10 pairs of jeans and what seemed like another 10 pairs of textile trousers we came away with a jacket. Every cloud I suppose.

Where did you get them from Andy? Speedsport on Willerby road I've always found helpful.

We went to into gear today, we'll go to speedsport later in the week. I bought some stuff for our youngest from there. I did suggest I'd get her old helmet out of the loft. We bought 2 Boeri driver helmets from speedsport when it was on Cottingham road in about 1983 ,they still look new and are in their box but I suspect slightly past their sell by date.

I got my first set of leathers along with a helmet from them when they were on Cottingham road. Good service, they altered them for a very decent price.

Trouble is America is such a good bike for taking a pillion. My missus never went on my previous bikes, but Triumph was in the garage a couple of days before she was asking to go out on it. Absolutely loves it now.
Found Halvarssons gear really good and good fit for women.
For the price of a new helmet, think I would be happier to get a new one, rather than one 33 years old. You only get one head.
