Hi All this 1997 Trophy that I bought a few months back is starting to worry me a bit now this is my first Hinkley Triumph and it had 39,500 ish KM on the clock when I bought it had not been run for a couple of years it came from Switzerland and I asked about the engine noise back then as it seems rather busy/noisy but was told by several people on forums that the T300 is a noisy engine but now it seems to be getting worse.

There is a patch of very bad vibration between 2,000 & 3,000 rpm and certain throttle openings make it much worse still then it rattles through the foot pegs you can also feel vibration through the pegs at 5,000 rpm. The small dealer I bought it from did a service for me, Oil, oil filter, K&N air filter, new plugs and new brake pads and new tyres. I changed the coolant which was almost black and have been wondering when the carbs were balanced last and could them being out of balance cause vibration?

Another problem just came up while trying to remove the vacuum hose from the RH carb the little plastic spigot broke off the hose is really stuck to the plastic and the hose needs replacing as it's perishing.

@Plezier That's no milage for a Trophy. May just be the cam chain tensioning. How is it now you have serviced it.

Ahhh honestly I do not know if the cam chain was checked or adjusted the servicing was pretty basic, plugs, oil, air and oil filters new brake pads at the front and new tyres. I then checked and changed the coolant myself the rest was done by the seller a small time dealer. The last proper entry in the service booklet wat back in November 2000 at 19754 km when I bought it it had 39373 km showing it was imported into Bulgaria from Switzerland.

I have been wondering about the valve clearances so am intending to ask at the independent bike dealer in Veliko Tarnovo if they can do this and change the fork oil have just been reading about the cam chain tensioner perhaps I had better order a new spring especially as it will take a couple of weeks to get here from the UK.
