Motone X Pipe just fitted to my Bonnie and what a difference.
I can certainly recommend this modification which has already proved to both sound great with much improved pick-up and it just runs better.
The Motone high grade stainless steel unit has fewer welds therefore giving better, less restricted gas flow.
It did take me a full afternoon to fit with quite awkward bolts to remove to get reasonable access. But it was worth the effort.

yes. after checking out videos of install, i got 17mm stubby wrench which made getting to a frame bolt possible. 2 1/2 hrs and the deed was done. same day i did a friends and took less than 2hrs. Thruxton R is even tighter quarters.

    Sounds good Phil.
Did you notice the difference it makes?
I'm now thinking about changing the air filter for better flow that end!

absolutely. she breathes better, runs cooler(much), and responds to throttle input better. some popping upon deceleration but i like it. i didnt opt for different filter as the stock paper one filters better than say K&N. Also oiling after market ones sometimes gums up throttle bodies. i did remove the intake snorkle. no ill affect and i can hear the roar.

    Thanks again for that Phil.
But "removing the snorkel " seems a good move. Just not sure about that!
    More info will be good?
    Cheers

I have been thinking about the Xpipe, but am very conscious about loosing the warranty, how do you guys deal with that? Did you guys wait for the Warranty to expire?

Also on a final note I have a good friend of mine that always says.. Don't say noise!! noise is what kids do... Say Sound!! I totally agree... its Sound or even better music ;)

I have Gasser Custom pipes which sound and look great, then I installed the TEC x pipe. I thought it sounded great until I went on a day long ride! It was HD loud! I’ve since removed and sold it and am a lot happier with just the pipes.

Certainly music to my ears Andy.
I did wait until the warranty period was over but understand that Triumph do in fact offer to fit the X pipe but at a cost.
    I was quoted £359
The pipe from Motone cost me about £135
    Cheers

Yes I had one fitted by Triumph who said they would not affect warranty if fitted in a Triumph dealer workshop and for the price it saves the dirt the swearing and mostly the skinned knuckles and paint work.
    Ride safe

Thanks Joe pleased you got it done.
I just wanted to give it a try myself and it went well. Only one bruised knuckle and loads of satisfaction.

Now we all know how the dealers do it and I got a similar cat. She never even offered to do the job for me. What a traitor she is after all the food I gave her.
    Regards
    Joe.

Looks good (as a newby just noticed the attached picture)
After re fitting the CAT front cover plate the X pipe can't be noticed unless you know what to look for.
I just love riding my Bonnie!

    Greetings!
Not that I know much about such things..but my T120 was purchased with x pipe/fitting on it (and Vance and Hines pipes).I love the growl when I want it,and the bike purrs along normally when going for a leisurely ride and not needing to frighten the neighbours!
It has comments off more experienced riders..they agree it sounds mint and the performance is fab..my understanding is it also lightens the bike..but what do I know!!

Thinking of getting Norman Hyde x-pipe and silencers for my T120 to get a better sound and smoother ride. Does anyone have any experience with these?

On looking at a few reviews have ordered an x-pipe from TEC.

Still thinking of where I'll get the replacement silencers from, so any advice would be appreciated.

I use the Triumph V and H but US spec. Very good and not too loud. But nice loud with occasional popping on deceleration.

The NH X pipe is well made and an accurate fit, unlike some other popular cheaper offerings. I've had experience of both and have had to stop my installation of a cheaper one on my Thruxton while I wait for the NH pipe to arrive. I fitted one of these to my Bonneville and it was a good fit.
Here's what I was delivered and have since returned for a refund:
