I'm not sure whether to post this on the Bonneville or Technical forum, but here goes!

Can someone please let me know what the torque setting should be for the bolts securing the 6 Cam shaft holders. (May be from the official workshop manual)
I have the Haynes manual and that gives the torque as 10nm or 7 ft/lb. Having just struggled to remove the camshafts to change the shims these bolts were definitely done up a great deal tighter than 10nm. I am wondering whether the Haynes manual has a misprint.

    Many thanks

Sounds about right. Similar value to the 1.8 VW engine. The steel bolts will have had mild galvanic corrosion in the alloy, hence sticky to remove.

89 lb-in {Haynes} I enjoy using the lb-in torque wrench, easy to feel the resistance.

89 lb-IN or 7 lb-ft depending on the torque wrench used.
