Does anyone know if the Street Twin (and others) top yoke nut is an M25 or not? I'm pretty sure it takes a 38mm socket to shift it but does that make it an M25?
The Thruxton yoke nut is an M25 and far better than the cheap-looking chrome one on the ST. It's been confirmed elsewhere that the Speed Twin nut is a straight swap, I want to know if the Street Twin is the same.

I thought you might have had a reply by now Beerkat. The only other thought I had was that the parts diagram below shows an M25 nut for a Street Twin, but I don't know which one you've got.

Incidentally, I measured the two nuts with a digital vernier, and I'm sure a 38mm socket will be correct as the thread is metric, but I went for an 1 1/2" for some reason. There is only 0.1mm between the two I think. The most significant thing is to get a 6 point socket, and I put a bit of insulating tape inside the socket to try and avoid marking the nut, which worked for me.

Thanks for that, I think that confirms that the Street Twin and the Speed Twin use the same top nut, part no. T2042135. Therefore the 'superior' top nut from the Thruxton, part no. T2049880, which fits the Speed Twin, will fit the Street Twin. Excellent!
